Begin Recruitment was born out of my passion for being a Career Coach at heart and my profound appreciation for how important people’s careers are. When the opportunity of entrepreneurship fell into my hands, I envisioned an agency with an online influencer career elevation coaching platform built on an industry-standard talent acquisition platform.

Early Years: An Aspiring CFO

In highschool, my CFO inspirational goals came from my older cousin Russel who was nearing his completion of his CGA designation. Looking up to him, I followed his path and acquired my CMA designation.

Entering into the finance and accounting corporate world, hungry to make my mark as an influential leader, after working for many great companies, I continually fell short of my goals. Looking back at this phase of my career, not having an executive career coach to guide me on the path of self-education was my biggest blind spot!

After leaving my last finance role, I was feeling defeated and even cringed at the thought of working in another finance role. Despite my lackluster results, I still had an unwavering commitment to achieving an illustrious and fulfilling career experience.

The Recruitment Industry Chooses You!

The day I discovered the opportunity of working within the staffing and recruiting industry felt like a gift from the Universe.

It reminds me of a quote by Tony Robbins that I really admire, “The universe will pay whatever price you ask of it.” I believe because I never gave up on my career aspirations, the universe gifted me with the opportunity to work in the recruitment industry.

I was having a solo lunch in Downtown Toronto when I overheard someone say the word “Recruitment” at a table beside me. Choosing confidence in the moment, I said “Hello,” and made an introduction. It turns out, I was introducing myself to some great people who worked in the recruitment industry! My career started down a new path that day, and one week later, I became employed within the staffing industry! I was back on track towards a fulfilling career experience.

Founding Philosophy: “Your career is important.”

During Covid, I found myself at another crossroads in my career and life. Despite feeling uncertain and unmotivated, I held onto my dreams of a fulfilling career. Covid was great because it gave you lots of time to think and decide on how to either invest or spend your time. I decided to invest my time.

The universe works in mysterious ways, and it was during this time I discovered the opportunity of entrepreneurship. From that moment I began day dreaming of a world-class recruitment agency and what it would look like if I created one.

I’ve attended many Tony Robbins’ events, and it’s where I awakened to my love for serving and career coaching. I coach others because I never want anyone to experience the setbacks I faced in my career. Reflecting on my experience as an employee and a global recruitment expert, I’ve realized the unique expertise I have and its potential for impacting the careers’ of many.

While working in the global recruitment industry, I had the privilege of serving some of the world’s most influential leaders. This experience revealed common attributes and career paths leading to their incredible success. It also highlighted where I went wrong in my career and where others often do too.

Embarking into entrepreneurship armed with an old laptop, a cell phone, and a free LinkedIn profile, I “burned my boats” and passionately began building Begin Recruitment with the goal of providing world-class career elevation coaching and recruitment services founded on a unique online-influencer branding strategy!

My journey in the global recruitment industry and founding Begin Recruitment has taught me there is a massive opportunity for enhanced personalized service, innovation, and a cost-effective business model is essential for success.

As technology reshapes our industry, specifically AI, we must embrace digital transformation and leverage it to become faster and more effective with less people within this business strategy. Prioritizing a robust candidate coaching experience and building strong client relationships built on “serving first” are key to scaling in today’s evolving market.
