About the Role

The Senior Accounts Payable role with a high-rise condominium builder will act as a process subject matter expert, overseeing and enhancing end-to-end accounts payable functions. Responsibilities include managing the payment cycle, coordinating with Treasury for fund releases, and handling banking and administrative duties. The Specialist will analyze and process complex transactions, coach new hires and existing staff, and collaborate with the CFO to enhance accounts payable processes. This role offers growth potential, with the possibility of advancing into a managerial position as expertise is demonstrated.

Other Responsibilities
  • Serving as a Process Expert: Managing full accounts payable functions, coordinating fund releases with Treasury, and performing banking and administrative tasks.
  • Month-End Variance Analysis: Assisting with month-end variance analysis reports, providing commentary on actuals vs. budget vs. forecast for both cost and cash.
  • Complex Accounting and Reporting: Navigating complex construction and project accounting requirements, reporting data and analyses to senior management.
  • Multi-Site AP Management: Overseeing daily and weekly AP processes for multiple sites and vendors in a high-volume setting.
  • Support and Resolution: Assisting site teams, clients, and vendors in resolving AP issues and responding to queries.
  • Approval and Compliance Assurance: Ensuring proper approval processes, including PO matching and adherence to company policies.
  • Vendor Reconciliation: Reconciling vendor statements, identifying and resolving discrepancies, and addressing aged items efficiently.
  • Supplier Communication: Maintaining transparent communication with suppliers on invoices and problem resolution.
  • Periodic AP Process Reviews: Reviewing AP processes and recommending actionable enhancements.
  • Team Development and Collaboration: Coaching new hires and existing staff, and working with the CFO to implement process improvements.
  • Career Progression Opportunities: Potential to advance into a managerial position as proficiency and expertise are demonstrated.
About the Candidate
  • Must work 5 days a week in-office
  • Preference for candidates with construction experience
  • 2-3 years in a complex AP environment or general accounting role
  • Experience with a major ERP system is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with willingness to train and lead others
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word and Excel
  • Desire to take on new challenges, responsibilities, and assignments
  • A collaborative, driven professional, eager to work within a diverse environment
