About the Company

A leading provider of customized real estate services is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Financial Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of financial management services related to client agreements. This role will serve as a key business partner within a high-performing team, where you will handle financial statement compilation, financial planning and analysis, and provide decision support on complex contractual and financial matters. This position is a perfect hybrid of technical expertise, including financial statement preparation, financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting. There is ample room for upward job title promotion in this role!

About the Role
  • Track and report on financial obligations within portfolios, conducting investigations and providing interpretations as needed.
  • Ensure timely and efficient delivery of financial obligations for portfolios.
  • Support financial statement building and participate in period-end management reporting packages.
  • Provide intricate transactional support within a specific process of the accounting cycle.
  • Complete and resolve complex or high-volume account reconciliations.
  • Identify and resolve complex accounting discrepancies, recommending solutions and involving management when necessary.
  • Track forecasted annual performance, providing recommendations or assistance with action plans.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial analyses (scheduled and ad-hoc) and offer recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Build and review internal and external reports for stakeholders.
  • Build evaluation materials for key business decisions.
  • Prepare complex forecasts with thorough documentation (assumptions and calculations) for internal and external purposes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in preparing forecasts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Operate as a subject matter expert in the industry, providing timely insights and answering key questions.
  • Contribute to key decision-making processes and take ownership of provided information.
  • Collaborate with leadership to present material items and solutions.
  • Produce transactional data and in-depth analyses to support operational decision-making, including recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance and maintain documentation backup within key operational reporting processes.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on process gaps and recommend major improvements.
  • Contribute to drafting policies, internal controls, and procedures.
About the Candidate
  • Canadian University graduate
  • In process or completed Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CPA, CMA, or CGA)
  • Deep understanding of accounting systems and operational system interdependencies
  • Proficiency with applications like Excel, SAP, JDE, Oracle, and PowerPoint
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to manage competing priorities, and perform well under pressure
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Potential to motivate, develop, and manage staff in the future
