About the role
Operational Collaboration and Improvement
- Work in tandem with various departments such as Sales, Client Services Management, and the Financial Operations Director to enhance processes related to financial transactions and revenue flow.
- Examine client agreements and sales-related documents, focusing on elements that affect financial liquidity and revenue accounting.
- Contribute to the development and execution of financial procedures linked to the financial transaction cycle.
- Propose improvements to business processes to expedite financial reporting related to revenue and cost of goods sold (COGS).
- Assist in the assimilation of newly acquired entities, transitioning from ASPE to US GAAP standards, and upgrading financial systems.
Financial Management and Analysis
- Ensure the prompt and precise execution of monthly and quarterly financial closure processes, particularly concerning revenue accounting, COGS accruals, service profitability, and postponed revenue.
- Conduct in-depth accounting analysis on revenue accounting and other complex financial matters, offering advisory services to internal stakeholders under both ASPE and US GAAP frameworks.
- Develop and revise documents explaining revenue accounting policies.
- Generate and present detailed reports on revenue and profit margins, analyzing and communicating significant trends and observations to upper management.
- Collaborate effectively with the Client Services Management team to verify that project completion metrics comply with GAAP standards.
- Perform reconciliations of major balance sheet accounts related to the financial transaction cycle, addressing any discrepancies.
- Engage proactively with external auditors during the annual audit process.
About the candidate
- CPA or in process
- Ideally candidates experience within a Big 4 Firm
- Over five years in Finance and Accounting roles.
- Skilled in Excel and familiar with various ERP platforms for impactful financial reporting.
- Thrives in dynamic settings where quick adaptability leads to tangible impacts.
- Strong in managing multiple projects, prioritizing tasks, and adhering to tight deadlines.
- Capable of conveying financial insights to non-financial colleagues.
- Valuable experience with large ERP’s. Examples include using NetSuite, SalesForce, and Adaptive is considered beneficial.
