About the Company

A leading global provider of real estate management services is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Manager, Finance to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of financial management services related to client agreements. This role involves leading a team and performing financial statement compilation, financial planning and analysis, and providing decision support on complex contractual and financial matters. The Controller will be a strategic business partner to both internal and external stakeholders of our company. This role is ideal for a leader looking to be a client-facing representative of the relationships within their portfolio.

About the Role
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients
  • Oversee internal and external financial reporting
  • Review and present annual plans and quarterly forecasts to stakeholders
  • Analyze complex financial data and provide recommendations
  • Offer guidance on intricate accounting matters as needed
  • Manage full-cycle accounting for various portfolios
  • Ensure adherence to and implementation of accounting policies
  • Align business processes with accounting policies
  • Develop understanding of IFRS/GAAP and compliance requirements
  • Propose policy changes in line with evolving accounting standards
  • Lead internal and external audits, ensuring robust financial control framework
  • Possess a deep understanding of accounting systems for specific portfolios
  • Coordinate complex system setups, recommending technological enhancements
  • Identify and resolve system gaps proactively, anticipating changes
  • Manage complex/multiple portfolios with a thorough understanding of transactions
  • Act as a strategic partner for stakeholders, making operational decisions
  • Lead implementation of management decisions
  • Ensure timely delivery of financial contract obligations
  • Interpret and ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions
  • Monitor performance forecasts, assist in recovery plans as needed
  • Understand compliance with complex business processes, maintaining documentation
  • Conduct root cause analysis on process gaps and implement improvements
  • Draft policies and procedures, identifying areas for proactive improvement
  • Resolve intricate business issues, escalating as necessary
  • Gain high-level industry and business understanding
  • Cultivate relationships with operational counterparts, building trust
  • Oversee all aspects of team performance
  • Participate actively in talent recruitment
  • Mentor, coach, and guide team members toward success
  • Recommend objective compensation adjustments

About the Candidate
  • University graduate with a minimum of 10 years relevant work experience
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CPA, CMA, or CGA)
  • Deep understanding of accounting systems and operational system interdependencies
  • Proficiency with computer applications (Excel, Oracle ERP, PowerPoint)
  • Strong attention to detail, with ability to work under pressure and adjust to competing priorities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to motivate, develop, and manage staff
  • Solid management and supervisory-related experience
  • Well-developed client management and relationship skills
  • Fully developed leadership skills to manage a team and influence peers
