About the Client
Our client is a national legal services firm with offices across Canada seeking a full-time Accounts Payable Associate. This role operates within a large shared services team, with the Billing Analyst responsible for various duties, including posting disbursements, executing the EFT process, assisting the accounting team with banking reconciliations, processing client payments, and managing trust charts. This position is a key contributor within the shared services team and offers growth into training and development responsibilities while also serving as a payables subject matter expert.
Responsibilities
- Assist with posting disbursements on a timely basis.
- Carry out the EFT process weekly.
- Support the in-office accounting team as needed.
- Help with banking reconciliations for both general and trust accounts.
- Process client payments on a daily basis.
- Process trust charts daily during non-billing periods.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education or diploma, with a focus on accounting or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Accounts Payable.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to take initiative and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and adaptability.
- Proficiency with MS Office, particularly Excel.
