Responsibilities
  • Operate frequently as a finance business partner to head General Manager authorities among various divisions across Canada
  • Oversee and manage general accounting functions, including accounts payable and financial statement preparation
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and accounting best practices
  • Manage daily activities of finance and accounting staff
  • Oversee staff selection, performance management, goal setting, training, and development
  • Develop and supervise team members to foster a positive attitude, career growth, and strong performance results
  • Assess workloads, prioritize tasks, and implement changes to consistently enhance productivity and efficiency
  • Collaborate with functional or business leaders to promote improved OPEX, profitability, or specific key performance indicators
  • Handle key closing responsibilities for the area of support, such as closing the books, analyzing yearly or monthly trends, and offering commentary on variances versus budget
  • Liaise with the International Headquarters and Rexel Energy Solutions Offices to address issues, problems, concerns, and questions
  • Prepare forecasts, budgets, and strategic plans
  • Identify opportunities for cost control and recommend strategies to boost productivity
  • Understand CAPEX spend for the area of support and aim to improve KPIs or productivity from the investment
  • Review monthly key economic indicators
  • Lead monthly closing calls to discuss results for the month or quarter, providing commentary on the drivers of the results
  • Analyze sales mix, product mix, and gross profit margins
  • Comprehend accounting principles applied and their impact on the overall results
  • Manage, support, research, and report special financial projects as assigned
  • Assist with due diligence activities related to new acquisitions and the integration of targets into the corporate structure
  • Coordinate and oversee internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate responses to auditor requests
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls to protect the company’s assets and guarantee accurate financial reporting
  • Continuously seek areas for process improvement within finance and accounting functions to increase efficiency and accuracy
  • Perform other duties as assigned
About the Candidate
  • CPA or equivalent years experience
  • Canadian Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • 5 plus years of financial reporting experience or full cycle accounting
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong excel skills
