About the Client

Our client is a global commercial property management organization based in the heart of the financial district of Downtown Toronto. This role is a new position because their organization is growing fast. This role is a hybrid working arrangement. Expect to be at office near full weeks to start. Moving ahead you are required to visit their offices 2 to 3 days a week. This role also is a great opportunity to help you gain valuable CPA hours if you’re interested in achieving a CPA designation. This role also has massive opportunities for early promotion to Manager / Supervisor title.

About the Role

You will be responsible for monthly reporting for a portfolio of Condominium and Multi-Residential properties in support of property management operations. The duties include full cycle accounting and reporting. You will respond to property manager enquiries, assist in the preparation of annual budgets, respond and present to Boards.   • Prepare full accounting cycle for a portfolio of holdings
  • Manage internal controls, reconciliations, documentation associated with financial statements under your responsibility
  • Monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reporting packages
  • Analyze P&L’s of properties for revenue and expense efficiencies
  • Manage and perform rent / revenue full cycle reporting process
  • Post rent receipts to corresponding tenant accounts
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations, prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements
  • Post AP invoices to various properties, book accruals and conduct month end variance analysis reporting. This can be high volume at times.
  • Prepare year-end CAM and tax recoveries adjustment billings in accordance with the tenant leases
  • Reconcile property tax payments to tax payment schedules
  • Prepare reporting packages for property analysis such as NOI analysis, variance analysis and intercompany account reconciliations
  • Support the preparation of financial statements working files and assist with year-end audit queries
  • Provide accounting support to other team members on the accounting team and property/asset management team
  • Support the property management team with annual budget and reforecasts
  • Assist internal and external audit project
  • Assistance with ad-hoc projects as requested
About the Candidate
  • Commercial property accounting experience required
  • Nice to have Yardi experience
  • Degree / Diploma in accounting / business / finance / commerce
  • Well spoken, organized, familiar with working with executives
  • Can handle tight deadlines
